I don't believe in camps: Riteish Deshmukh

It's been five years. From "Chief Minister's son," he is now known as someone who has gained a foothold for himself in movie town. Known for his down to earth nature and his comic timing, here is Riteish Deshmukh in review mode with Vajir Singh.

Excerpts from our conversation:

Do you know that you're known as the nice guy of the industry?

(Smiles) See, I'm not into any camp and also don't believe in it. I'm friendly with everyone as they are with me. Everyone here has been gracious enough to accept me as an actor and their friend. I feel good about it. I've always believed in giving before expecting. If I give respect to others, only then will they respect me.

As you can see, this website is not updated as regularly as it should be. Lack of time is the major reason. If anyone is interested in becoming a co-webmaster, please contact us. We need someone who is reliable, can devote time to updating the site and/or gallery, someone who is a quick learner, and someone who genuinely wants to help.

Thanks. :)

"Critics may have their own views"

De Taali may not have set the box office on fire but amongst the three movies which came last Friday, it is still being the best of the lot. Also, as have been the feelers for this romantic comedy, the film is giving itself a fighting chance at the theaters.

"I am surprised to hear conflicting reports about the film. A few trade sources haven't been too kind in stating the box office prospects of the film but there are other industry sources who are maintaining that De Taali should do well to come out unscathed", says Ritiesh Deshmukh who, once again has managed to steal the show from right under everyone's nose.

"Today I get 4 times than last year"

Heyy Babyy, Dhamaal, 'Apna Sapna Money Money, Malamaal Weekly - Riteish Deshmukh has been enjoying a pretty consistent outing at the box office over all these years. Ok, so there may have been occasional Cash but it too took a good opening before fizzling out after a week.

With a series of successful films under his belt, Riteish does feel that he is enjoying a good growth rate in his career. And when this also translates into mega bucks, it only reaffirms his box office standing.

'Ayesha is a genuine talent'

Even though Ritiesh Deshmukh has worked with Ayesha Takia for the first time ever in DE TAALI, he truly believes that the girl is a genuine talent. Impressed with her spontaneity and the range that she brings in her act, Riteish admits that it was fun working with her in his soon to be released urban comic flick that is directed by E Niwas.

"Ayesha is truly one of the finest talents around", says Riteish in an admiring tone, "I mean most of us actors have a particular way of acting in films. The way we enact a scene or mouth a dialogue, there is basically a similar format involved. But Ayesha is just different."
