Riteish Deshmukh’s phone hasn’t stopped ringing ever since Ram Gopal Varma announced his next film, Warning, and revealed that the actor
would be in it.
Warning is slated to be India's first 3D horror film and Riteish is the only actor who has been finalised so far.
"I
have worked in one of the segments of Ramu's Darna Zaroori Hai. In fact, Ramu himself directed the short story that featured Amitabh Bachchan and
me,” says an excited Riteish, who has already worked with RGV thrice. “But Warning should be unique since it's a full length film.
Moreover, the 3D experiment should bring a new dimension to the film. I like Ramu's vision and I am keen to see how he films it."
"I have
worked with him in three movies so far, but I would call Rann the first film where I had a full-fledged outing,” says the actor.
“Otherwise, in Naach [starring Abhishek Bachchan and Antara Mali] I had an extended guest appearance, while in Darna Zaroori Hai, it was just a
few minutes in a short story. Rann is my first-ever meaty film with him."
So is he the main protagonist in Warning? "Well, Ramu would be the
best person to answer that," says Riteish.
Meanwhile, he has an exciting 2009 ahead with a huge line up of releases. "Yeah, it's going to be
fun," he says. “Aladin arrives on August 14. Then there is Rann, which I have been told is slated for October. Do Knot Disturb and Jaane Kahan
Se Aayi Hai are also lined up soon after. Right now I am off on a two-month start-to-finish shooting stint for Housefull. So there is a lot
happening."
